D&G x Ancient Greece
It is when designers get inspired by such glorious civilizations that art spawns on the catwalks around the world. This time the Italian dynamic duo Dolce & Gabbana got inspired by Greece, presenting us a rather extraordinary menswear collection, which gathers elements that pre-existed thousands of years ago brought together in a very modern and sophisticated way. Now religion and culture is considered the label's creative arterial but this time the amazing prints of the ancient Greek coins, the statues and iconic Ionic columns and buildings of the antiquity, all together presented in Milan, a city inspired by exactly those things, formed a cultural bomb of excitement for both the ones present on the show and the ones watching nowfashion's live image streaming. Lame suits, satin, cotton and unique textures reminding us of the loose χιτωνες (Greek word for camisole=cloak) always true to the luxurious identity of D&G, paired with sandals similar to those warriors used to wear defined the ultimate outfit for the #Homme spring/summer 2014.
