The Queen of prints Resorted*
Mary Katrantzou the Greek, London based designer is wowing us season after season with her amazing taste for prints and of course the exquisite craftsmanship with which the Katrantzou studio is skilled, in order to bring together art and clothing with such staggering results. Getting inspired by everyday landscapes and images, items she grew up watching, her travels around the world, she comes up along with several printmakers with genuine prints, that come to life in a very 3-D, surreal kind of way. And while her fans love her vibrant color pallet and the pop factor of her collections it came us a shock (a pleasant one for me) that her fall/winter collection depicted trees the way they are in fall. Withered and dark. And while everybody was stunned by this drastic change when it came to the Katrantzou mood, the designer had another collection coming in store. Her Resort debut one, for 2014. A blossomed version of her fall collection inspired by her latest travels in America and Brazil. Skyscrapers, her signature florals, mix and matches of prints that differ yet look divine together in chic shapes perfect for the young 18+ years old all the way up to the sophisticated ladies who love some Katrantzou edge!
